1. iTunes Radio
There are lots of radio stations to choose from in iTunes using the ‘Radio’ button. When you come across a radio station that you like, you can stream it in iTunes by going to Advanced—Open Stream, and then entering the URL manually.
2. Art Work
In iTunes it’s now possible to have the picture of the album been played displayed as well. You can add your own pictures and keep the music cover that was downloaded from the music store in place. To do this, go to ‘Get Info’ and click on ‘Artwork’. Add the image by navigating to the where the image is stored on your computer.
3. Trim Songs
Long songs on your iPod can be a bit annoying if space on your iPod is running out. iTunes will let you edit your music by chopping the bit you do like. Go to ‘Get Info’—Options and set the start and stop time.
4. Shopping Cart
iTunes by default let you purchase music using the ‘Buy’ button in the store and let you download instantly. Most people like myself prefer using the shopping cart to download music. Go to ‘Preferences—Store’ and select ‘Buy’ using a shopping cart. In the source pane at the Music Store will be cart.
5. iTunes Library Data Management
If ever faced the situation of losing all your music files because you forgot to back it up. If that’s the case, then iTunes comes to the rescue. In ‘Preferences’ click on the ‘Advanced’ tab and choose ‘Data CD or DVD’ to make copies of each file. Choose the file and select ‘Burn Disc’ at the top right. Remember, hard drives don’t last forever.
6. Finding Files
To find a music file, right-click on a song name and choose ‘Show Song File’ from the menu.
7. Join Tracks
All songs on CDs has a gap between each track. To join tracks as one long track with no gaps, go to ‘Advanced—Join CD Tracks’. Remember to have the tracks in the right order.
8. Crossfade Effect
To get the beginning and the end of your tracks to merge into each other, go to ‘Preferences—Playback’ and move the slider.
9. iTunes Update
To be notified of iTunes updates, turn on the iTunes updates button in ‘Preferences—General’. Remember to be connected to the internet for this to work.
10 Share Playlists
To share playlists on your entire library with other Mac users, go to ‘Preferences—Sharing’ and select ‘Share My Music’, then choose which songs you want to share. To prevent others getting their hands on your collection other than the users you want to share your music with, you can set a password to stop them.
